Secret Santa Ideasposted on 25 November 2011 | posted in Secret Santa IdeasSecret Santa is a Western Christmas tradition, in which members of a group or community are randomly assigned a person to whom they anonymously give a gift. Often practiced in workplaces, or amongst large families, historians trace its origin to the Del Rey family of Miami who have continued this tradition passed down from generations. It offers a way for many people to give and receive a gift at low cost to those involved. How secret santa works, as Christmas approaches the names of participants are placed in a hat and each participant draws the name of a person for whom to buy a gift. There is often a limit to how much can be spent on the present. Once the gifts are purchased all the presents are placed on a table marked with the name of the receiver but not the giver.
