    For those who were born in November the Topaz is the traditional birthstone. The November birthstone poem reflects some of the properties with which the Topaz is associated with the values of strength, wisdom, courage, constancy, loyalty, faithfulness and friendship. Golden topaz is also given on the 23rd anniversary .The Traditional Metaphysical Properties for the November Birthstone Topaz are strength, releasing tension and balancing emotions. The healing properties of the November birthstone are reputed to be effective for health problems relating to sanity, asthma, gout, blood disorders, tuberculosis and insomnia. The Topaz is also used to enhance spiritual rejuvenation and feelings of happiness.

    Legend has it that topaz dispels anger and nocturnal fears and makes men who wear it handsome. Topaz comes in a variety of colours, including white, yellow and blue. Blue topaz is most commonly used in jewellery and is the perfect centrepiece for silver rings , silver pendants and silver earrings . Topaz has been mined for more than 2000 years. It is unclear where the name comes from. One theory is that it derives its name from the Sanskrit tapas, meaning fire. Another is that it is named after an ancient Greek island, Topazios, where a yellow stone was mined.
